Isham Family Farm
This farm is located in Williston VT and it’s the perfect place for a rustic ceremony. It combines the rich history of Vermont farming with innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture and community-oriented land use. Located less than 10 miles from downtown Burlington,the property offers sweeping mountain views and plenty of space for celebrations.
Isham Family Farm is a year-round diversified family farm offering PYO blueberries and raspberries,sweet corn in late summer,pumpkins for the fall,and Christmas trees throughout the winter. The farm also has a maple syruping operation that uses a wood-fired Leader Vortex arch. They offer pure Vermont Maple Syrup all year long.
In addition,the farm hosts a weekly farmers market and a farm theater series in its restored barn. The farm is a popular venue for weddings and special events.
Centennial Woods
Centennial Woods is one of UVM’s most popular natural areas. It boasts 65 acres with mature conifer trees,mixed hardwoods and fields. There are also streams,wetlands,and fields. It is the perfect place to study the region’s plants and animals as well as its natural and cultural history.
Pick-your-own-berries are also available at the farm,as well as other farm activities. Visitors can also hike the Oak View Hill Hiking Trail,which offers amazing views of Camel’s Hump and Mt. Mansfield.
Shelburne Pond is a popular rod fishing spot located just a short drive away from the farm. The pond’s clean environment and convenience makes it a top destination for tourists and locals alike.
Catamount Outdoor Family Center
In 1978,Jim and Lucy McCullough had two goals when they opened the Catamount Outdoor Family Center at their Williston Farm. One was to keep the 400 acres of forests,meadows and jaw-dropping views that had been in their family since 1873 intact.
The other was to encourage more people to use their land. The McCulloughs opened their trails to the public and groomed them. The McCulloughs had to find other ways to generate revenue,such as mountain biking races,fundraising and a Christmas Tree business.
Every Wednesday night,all summer,cyclists from all levels gather at the trailhead for a five-kilometer circuit. They race with a low-stakes,friendly attitude,wearing bibs that have numbers.
Get Air Trampoline Park
Get Air Trampoline Park is a one-of-a-kind indoor playground where kids can bounce,swing on monkey bars,and practice walking across balance beams. The park also has foam pits,dodgeball and a ninja course. This is the ideal place to host a group outing or birthday party.
Parents have complained that the facility is understaffed and lacks proper oversight. Parents claim that management doesn’t respond to their emails or phone calls.
Hill,the manager,said he could not comment on complaints. However,he did mention that an incident reporting program records incidents ranging from a child needing a Band-Aid to more serious situations involving police or EMS. He declined to provide an estimate of how many incidents are logged. He stated that the system will soon be upgraded.
